Are there any current travel restrictions?
As of May 2020, Thailand’s government is imposing travel restrictions and bans for short-term visitors. We anticipate that these restrictions will be lifted in due time. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update our guests, FAQs and policies accordingly.
Is it safe to travel to SAMSAM Yao Noi?
SAMSAM Yao Noi is located on one of the last natural islands in Thailand. Our accommodation is located on the hills of Yao Noi surrounded by rainforests. Ensuring privacy is one of our greatest strengths. We have implemented some of Thailand’s strictest protocols in response to concerns from travelers regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus).
What are we doing to keep SAMSAM Yao Noi safe?
Our prevention and protection plan includes a comprehensive sanitization program throughout the resort and enhanced sanitization protocols, containment procedures, and increased screening and awareness program for our team. Over the past few weeks, we have also taken a number of additional measures.
What are your cancellation conditions?
We understand at this time, plans are incredibly subject to change. Therefore, we are flexible about postponing your stay, which can be done within 12 months of your original booking dates. We will also ensure that complete refunds are applied for all cancellations due to government travel restrictions. Additionally, any amendments and cancellations will be accepted with no charge up to 10 days before arrival. However, no refunds are applicable for no-shows or for days not used due to early checkout or delayed arrivals. Please get in touch with us about your travel plans and we will do our absolute best to be accommodating and understanding of your situation and in finding a solution.
What happens if I start feeling unwell during my stay?
We ask that you please remain vigilant during your stay with us, and you immediately report any symptoms of the COVID-19 infection (runny nose, fever, dry cough and flu) to our General Manager, who can arrange for an immediate consultation with our doctor.
How are the medical services in Koh Yao Noi?
We are fortunate to have a doctor visiting service at SAMSAM, in which an English-speaking doctor from the First Standard Clinic will come to us. We also have the option of bringing a guest to First Standard Clinic, which is only a few minutes away from SAMSAM and has an ambulance speedboat service to mainland Phuket (25-30 mins) for emergency cases.
Koh Yao Chaipat Hospital is a Public Hospital located, about seven minutes from SAMSAM by car. For basic needs, there is an excellent pharmacy at the market in Koh Yao Noi.
Our guests’ health, safety, and comfort remain our main concern, and we remind guests to ensure that they organize appropriate travel insurance ahead of their visit.
How do I get to the resort safely?
SAMSAM is easily accessible from Phuket and the Krabi Airport. We are happy to arrange private airport pick up and boat transfer for you. You can choose between our private SAMSAM longtail or public speed boat. The boat is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each trip. Please contact us directly for these and any other arrangements.
Is every guest tested?
Guests will get a COVID19 test at the airport immediately when they arrive in Thailand (every international airport, including Phuket and Krabi Airport is following this procedure) and if the result is negative, only then can they take a connecting flight to smaller local cities, and they will have their temperature taken again at the local airport.
Once guests arrive at SAMSAM, we will take their temperature by digital thermometer. We also provide face masks for all guests before entering the reception area and insist on cleaning hands with disinfectant gel before check-in.
What if a guest tests positive?
If a guest tests positive when the results are received, the Thai Covid19 Center Administration team will bring said guest to the state quarantine location provided by the Thai government in each city. For Phuket city, the state quarantine location is the Royal Thai Navy camp at Phuket.
